Purpose of FAA Part 107 Certification
According to the FAA, the purpose of the Part 107 education & certification curriculum, is to educate drone pilots in order to provide a safe and effective foundational step for the FULL INTEGRATION of unmanned aircraft (aka Drones) into the controlled airspace by the year 2025.
By completing and passing this certification, it grants a drone pilot with a commercial remote pilot certificate (which is commonly called a Commercial Drone Pilot License) from the FAA. This certification must be renewed through via ongoing education and knowledge testing by the FAA every two years. By having the FAA 107 license the drone pilot attests to the fact they have the training, education and knowledge necessary to navigate safely and responsibly in controlled public air space and is legally qualified and approved for commercial drone activities.
Before using or signing up for services with a Drone Pilot, you should be aware of the facts and possible dangers as well as fines you could incur by using an uncertified drone pilot.
